Thanksgiving Pageant 2004 at Nido de Aguilas This was really cute to see. There were pilgrims, their wives (Maddie), Indians, Preachers and Turkeys. The teacher read a Thanksgiving Day story and every time she said the word turkey, the "turkeys" stood up, flapped their arms and said "gobble, gobble, gobble". When she said Indian during the story, the "Indians" jumped around, hit their mouth with their hands and did the "whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo" thing. When she said the word Preacher, the "Preachers" jumped up and shouted "Praise the Lord!" Do not remember what the "pilgrims" line was. The "pilgrim wives" put their hands to their faces, shook their heads and said "Mercy Me!" during parts of the story and a couple of other things I do not recall. Christmas Pageant For Christmas, the Kindergarden classes got together and sang a selection of Christmas songs, did some hand motions, yadayadayada. Each class had a different type of crown/hat on their heads. Madison liked all the other "hats" better than the one she wore so she does not look thrilled. Santa was a victim of "sleigh jacking". He arrived on a horse. Christmas 2004 Christmas morning, and boy were we happy! Santa brought Maddie the three things she asked for. Every year we open one present on Christmas Eve. Ken does not like this tradition. We do not like that he does not like this tradition. The photo below is Christmas morning, but the first two pictures you will see when you double click on it are Christmas Eve. The present she chose to open was from Paw. It was one of the things she was hoping for! Barbie's Fairytopia! Good job Paw! You are getting a big hug and kiss for that one. Christmas Afternoon No we did not put the wrong pictures in this category. This is Christmas Day. We opened presents in the morning, played in the pool with some of them that afternoon. Barbie boat, Barbie mermaid and Max Steele. Ken had so much fun I've put Barbie stuff on his Christmas list for next year. New Years 2005 This is the night before New Years Eve. We drove into Santiago to see the fireworks display. We did not try to take photos. They were Spectacular! We had friends over for dinner on New Years Eve and we made the house a little festive with balloons, noise makers and masks for everybody to wear to the fireworks display. Yes, I blew up the balloons and NO I did not have anything better to do. No Floaties! Look Mom, no hands! I mean, no FLOATIES! Yeeaah! The day before Madison tried swimming she asked me "How do dogs swim?" I told her they instinctively know how to move all of their legs at the same time and hold their heads up out of the water. She decided to give it a try the next day while she and Ken were in the pool. I was truly surprised when I went outside and saw her in the middle of the pool. Didn't think those floaties were ever coming off. There's no stopping her now. She is very pleased with herself. I, personally, have been in the pool once. For exactly one minute. Dove in, climbed out. The water is so cold your skin instantly numbs. Summer School Maddie went to four weeks of summer school. At the end of both two week sessions there was a barbeque, water games, the kids entertained and awards were given. Camera was acting up so just a few photos. I missed getting a picture of her receiving her certificate. Fantasilandia A very small amusement park in Santiago. Comparatively speaking. We all enjoyed it though. Maddie, true to form, wanted to ride the same rides over and over and over. Needless to say we didn't cover many bases. She loved the bumper cars, they had pint sized ones for the kids, but the photos were too dark to see. Zapallar Beautiful beach front. Secluded hotel, small and private. Both the beach and hotel. We shared the beach with maybe 30 people. LOVED IT! Remember, there are four categories here. The Hotel Isla Seca, the beach at Zapallar, a beach at Concon we stopped at along the coast on our drive home and a few pictures of the Pacific Coastline. Our House in Lo Barnechea (suburb of Santiago), Chile Have had a few requests for pictures of our Chilean house so here they are. A few inside and a few outside. Double click to see all. Miscellaneous A few others of various things. That's all folks! Hope you enjoyed. Please be sure to sign guest book again!! Love to all. Oldies but goodies below. Mountain Trip Bungy |
